Longcase Clocks

Joseph Windmills
Joseph and Thomas Windmills both served
as Master of the Clockmakers Company. They maintained links
with other great names of the period - Quare, Tompion, Benjamin Gray,
etc., occasionally supplying each other with parts and in some cases
complete movements. They succeeded Thomas Tompion as clock maintenance
contractors to HM Office of Ordnance at the Tower of London and at
Woolwich and had other Crown orders.
William Jaques was one of
the few watch-casemakers to serve the Clockmakers Company. He
held the Office of Master 1716 - 1717. The year before Thomas
Windmills appointment to that office. Jaques made cases for
the pre-eminent watchmakers of the day.
