Thomas Field
Thomas Field was apprenticed in London c.1744. During
1766 he arrived in Bath and took over the premises and stock of Henry
Stimson. He styled himself ‘Thomas Field & Co. Clock and Watchmaker
and Goldsmiths from London’. He is believed to be the same Thomas
Field with premises in Bristol at the same time.
Bibl:
Thomas
Field is extensively documented in "The Clockmakers of Bristol 1650
– 1900" by A J Moore. An excellent and invaluable reference for those
interested in West Country clocks.
