William Bird
Seagrave is a small village in the Soar Valley of
Leicestershire. William Bird worked there between 1741 and 1767. He
produced mainly 30-hour longcase clocks of high quality. One other
8-day clock has been recorded in recent years. Newark Houses Museum
in Leicester has an example of his work. His grave can be found beneath
a large tree in Seagrave churchyard.
